The AMSOIL DOMINATOR

AMSOIL Championship Snocross kicks off this weekend with the AMSOIL DOMINATOR Race. The AMSOIL DOMINATOR began five years ago as a way to start out the Snocross season with a fast-paced, winner-takes-all style of racing.

The top Pro Open eight riders in points from last season are automatically entered in the race. The next eight fastest pros move on to the AMSOIL DOMINATOR, after qualifying races on Friday. It is NCAA bracket-style elimination tournament– when you are done, you are done. Winner takes home $10,000, the custom trophy and bragging rights for the next 364 days.

The trophy is hand made by Bob Rones, Maintenance Technician for Production at AMSOIL, aka “Bob the Builder”. Each trophy gets a different twist each year. Parts for the trophy are purchased at the Hay Days Swap Meet, the unofficial kickoff to the snow season, and are a combination of Ski-Doo, Arctic Cat and Polaris sleds. It took two weeks for Bob to work his magic and perfect the 2015 trophy, which is designed and built right here at AMSOIL.

In addition to the cash, the winner walks away with this sweet trophy. Take a look at the DOMINATOR trophy since 2012.
