2019 AMSOIL Year in Review: Racing & Events

#TeamAMSOIL was all over the map in 2019, from off-road racing in the desert to snocross in the upper Midwest...

December 23, 2019

Happy holidays, race fans! Another year has come and gone and, as we close out this decade, we’d like to reflect back on #TeamAMSOIL’s year.

Read on as we cover all the dust, dirt, mud, snow and more we traveled through in 2019.

January/February

Team AMSOIL made the trek out to the desert for Nitto King of the Hammers week.

It was a week full of excitement, with Bryce Menzies competing in his first Hammers event in two different races: UTV and Trick Truck.

Brothers Brad and Roger Lovell braved the cold (for California) to finish second in the Every Man Challenge.

We head back to the desert in just a few short weeks!

Stay tuned to our social media channels for all the behind-the-scenes action.

March

March kicked off with the 78th annual Daytona Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Fla.

We also saw Brad Lovell and crew claim the Vintage Open Class at the 50th Mint 400. The Lovells also finished their first-ever 400 in a 6100 Spec Trophy Truck.

March continued to be a month of winning with Scheuring Speed Sports’ Hunter Patenaude taking the Pro Lite crown at the AMSOIL Championship Snocross finale in Lake Geneva, Wis.

April

In April we took a trip out west to check out the Swap Moto Race Series.

Brad Lovell also found himself on the podium once again in the SCORE International San Felipe 250.

May

In May, Team AMSOIL headed to the Ultimate Call Out Challenge in Indianapolis, Ind. Check out the sweet builds we found here.

May also was the height of the car-show season, with Cruisin’ Ocean City and Carlisle Import and Ford Nationals.

June

June brought us to Portland, Ore., with the American Rally Association. It was the first race as a pair for Jeff Seehorn and co-driver Cody Crawford. Later in the month the pair secured a first place overall at the Idaho Rally.

Speaking of Idaho, Team AMSOIL traveled to Bonner’s Ferry in June to witness some serious vehicular violence at Mountain Havoc 4×4 Madness.

July/August

In July, we traveled out to Team O’Neil Rally School and the New England Forest Rally.

August is always full of excitement for Team AMSOIL with the Lovell’s trekking off on Expedition Colorado and the 79th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

August was also a good month for Menzies Motorsports, with Bryce Menzies winning Vegas-to-Reno. He celebrated his victory by making a trip to our corporate offices.

September

September means Labor Day, which means the Crandon World Championships in Crandon, Wis.

Three-time AMSOIL Cup winner Scott Douglas took to Turn 1 for the final time, capping a 40-year career in short-course racing. Hometown hero Keegan Kincaid solidified his Pro 2wd championship, earning a win during the series race on Saturday.

Across the pond in September, one of Germany’s top tuners (and avid AMSOIL user) Paul Dziubek broke a European record in his AMSOIL Nissan GT-R.

November/December

In November, we saw Brad Lovell take on the Baja 1000 with an all-star team in the new Ford Bronco R.

November also means Thanksgiving, which means the start of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross season. Or so we thought.

A record winter storm blew through the Duluth, Minn./Superior, Wis., area Thanksgiving weekend, forcing the postponement of racing Saturday evening and Sunday.

Which brings us to December, where the first full weekend of Snocross racing saw Team AMSOIL and Scheuring Speed Sports Hunter Patenaude go 1-2-1 on the weekend.

Be sure to stay tuned in to the blog and our social media platforms in 2020 as another year of racing and events kicks off.
