Happy Halloween, race fans! Got your costumes ready?

Your resident AMSOIL racing and events expert here with a breakdown of what Team AMSOIL has been up to “On the Track” and what’s coming up in our “Staging Area.” I’m fresh off a weekend in Crawfordsville, Ind. attending the AMSOIL GNCC Ironman and can’t wait to give you all the happenings from the weekend.

On the Track

AMSOIL Ironman GNCC

Head an hour west of the motorsports mecca that is Indianapolis, Ind. and you will find Crawfordsville. Nestled among the cornfields of this historic Midwestern town lies the Shaver family farm. Every Oct., after the corn has been harvested and the leaves have changed color, thousands flood the Shaver family land for the AMSOIL GNCC Ironman. This season-ending race, with riders sporting pink for breast cancer awareness, took to the woods this year for its 24th-annual running.

Friday night after we arrived, AMSOIL GNCC Director of Operations Tim Cotter took us on a tour of the property. As we spanned the acres of the facility, he told us the racer count for the weekend was just under 1,400.

At one point, he stopped our tour to help a family find a spot to park their trailer, symbolizing what GNCC is all about – helping one another.

Saturday was a full day of racing, with ATV youth racing in the morning and the pros and UTVs in the afternoon. Racers traverse a 14-mile track three to four times across the property. Just before mile marker three, they approach Ironman Hill. This stretch of trail shoots straight up a steep incline lined with spectators. Can’t quite make it to the top? Don’t worry. A few of the thousands of spectators will help pull your machine up to the top. Sunday closed out the weekend with the bikes.

New to AMSOIL GNCC this season was the addition of concerts presented by Monster Energy. GNCC crowd favorite Davisson Brothers entertained the crowd Friday night. Saturday, country star Easton Corbin took to the field to entertain the crowd. AMSOIL provided one lucky fan an exclusive meet-and-greet with Corbin.

Check out the video for highlights from the weekend.
