Nothing says summer quite like the sight of well-kept hot rods, muscle cars, street rods and other classics hitting the open road. After a long winter of storage, owners are eager to clock more miles while making the rounds throughout the summer car show scene. This weekend, there are two grand-scale car show events taking place in Milwaukee, Wis. and Carlisle, Pa. As the Official Oil of both, AMSOIL is set to make a lasting impression among enthusiasts passionate about their rides.
Car Craft Summer Nationals
The Car Craft Summer Nationals commences today in Milwaukee, Wis. and promises to deliver enough automotive eye candy to satisfy your craving until next year. This show draws out the masses, there to witness thousands of vehicles from around the world. The AMSOIL booth is open and ready to meet with spectators and talk about the showstoppers in our own display. Fritz Reich’s ’55 Bel Air is on site, as well as Jim Ransom’s street-legal race car and Bob & Eileen Powell’s 1935 Chevy. AMSOIL is also a proud sponsor of the Undiscovered Builders Invitational, in which up-and-coming builders are selected by Car Craft to receive public recognition of their skills.
The Car Craft Summer Nationals takes place July 15-17, 2016 at Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th Street, West Allis, Wisc. Show hours are:
- Friday, July 15 | 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, July 16 | 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Sunday, July 17 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Carlisle Events Chrysler Nationals
Also taking place this weekend is the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals held at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Billed as “a true Mopar-lover’s paradise,” this event draws over 2,500 Chrysler-brand vehicles from all eras. Spectators will enjoy miles of Chrysler’s classics in addition to special indoor displays, activities and a giant swap meet where any Chrysler part you need is probably on hand. Over in the AMSOIL booth, we’re paying homage to Chrysler’s past and present with Joe Flory’s 2006 Chrysler 300 and Joe McCorkel’s ’69 Cuda. You might want to show up on Saturday just to meet Richard Petty, pictured left, who made his blue #43 Plymouth Sunbird one of the most famous in racing.
