B&M Landscape Concepts Inc. of Orlando, Fla. has been providing custom landscape services for commercial business facilities, apartment communities, strip malls, office complexes and homeowner associations for more than 20 years. Fleet Manager Tim Strickland relies on AMSOIL products for improved equipment performance and minimal downtime.
Handheld Power Equipment
Strickland cites smoke and hard-starting issues as serious problems in the landscaping business. “It’s devastating,” said Strickland. “Hard starting and profound smoking are issues that do not allow our foremen or crews to get out, get to their properties and do their routes on time. Since we have been on the AMSOIL program with our equipment, we don’t have any hard-starting issues. The engines are just cleaner, and I don’t have any smoking issues coming from the two-cycle equipment.”
Prior to using AMSOIL products, Strickland had been experiencing problems with engine seizures. “I was using some of the best synthetic oil on the market. I mean, all of the ratings were there and we were still losing engines. I just could not figure it out, but once we made the switch to AMSOIL SABER® Professional, we haven’t had one engine come in locked-up.”
Trucks
AMSOIL XL Synthetic Motor Oil has helped B&M experience increased performance and fuel economy with its truck fleet. “We have a 2013 Ford* F150, and since we switched to AMSOIL XL, we are actually getting 4.2 more miles to the gallon,” said Strickland.
“I put AMSOIL XL in the owner’s truck, and he called me up and asked me what I did to his truck. I did nothing but install AMSOIL products, and he was just blown away. He said his vehicle is running like it never has. Next, we plan to convert all our diesel trucks to AMSOIL products.”
Mowers
Strickland turned to AMSOIL Premium Protection 20W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil to address issues with spinning bearings in the company’s John Deere* mower hydraulic systems. The decision has helped save significant money on repair and replacement expenses.
“We run everything to the outer limits,” said Strickland. “The longer the equipment can stay out and the oil is still good and the hydraulics are still good, the better. AMSOIL is the best quality oil and lubricant that I have used in 37 years. Since I have been using AMSOIL products, I sleep at night because I know what I have seen with my own eyes.”
