For three straight seasons, Jimmy Henderson finished second in the AMSOIL Championship Off-Road Pro 4 standings. In 2026, he finally finished first.
Henderson clinched his first career Pro 4 championship on Oct. 3, the final night of the season finale double-header at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Calif. He closed the book on a tight title fight throughout the season, finishing 17 points ahead of CJ Greaves.
Patience Wins a Championship
Henderson came into the two-race Glen Helen finale with a nine-point lead over Greaves. As the last round of the season, there was no room for mistakes. To take the title, Greaves needed to win, collect the halfway bonus and have Henderson not finish.
Greaves did his part early. He jumped into the lead and controlled the first half of the race. Then his truck stalled on lap 11 and much of the field swept past.
Henderson’s plan was simple: stay out of trouble. He chose to start last, avoided the early chaos and even declined a chance to battle Johnny Greaves, who was driving in the final race of his career. By the final lap, Henderson had worked his way up to fourth.
Then he made a single aggressive move in the final turn. Henderson got around CJ Greaves and the lapped truck of Adrian Cenni to take third at the checkered flag. That podium sealed the championship.
“This means so much to me,” Henderson said. “It is everything this team has done. Through every mistake we made, here we are. We pulled through it. This is what a championship is about. The entire team working together.”
A Season Built on Wins
Henderson set the tone early. He opened the season with a win and a second at the Show-Me Off-Road Shootout in Wheatland, Mo., in May and took the points lead. He added Pro 4 wins at Antigo, Dirt City and Fall Crandon, plus podiums at Spring Crandon and Bark River. The four race wins and steady podiums sent him to Glen Helen with the points lead.
He also won this year’s Red Bull Crandon World Cup, a separate single event, non-points race at the World Championships in September.
In 2025, Henderson won seven races, including both rounds at Glen Helen, and still finished second. When we spoke with him in early 2025, he told us his goal was to win a Pro 4 championship. This season was the payoff for his years of hard work and near misses.
Proven on the Track, Trusted in the Garage
Pro 4 trucks make more than 900 horsepower. They pound through rough, rutted corners and catch big air off steep jumps in every race, all season long. Glen Helen is one of the toughest tracks on the schedule, and the surface changes all weekend long. It’s a hard place to finish a season, and an even harder place to protect a championship.
Henderson Motorsports switched to AMSOIL DOMINATOR® Synthetic Racing Oil after repeatedly melting piston rings in its race trucks. Three years after the switch, the team said engine bearings and rings last longer, rebuilds are less frequent and engine failures were completely eliminated.
Henderson trusts AMSOIL away from the track, too. His construction companies run AMSOIL products in gas and diesel trucks, semis, welders, forklifts, skid steers, cranes and reach lifts. Read how Henderson protects his construction equipment with AMSOIL.
The same AMSOIL synthetic lubricants are available for the vehicles and equipment in your garage. Find the right AMSOIL products for everything you own in the AMSOIL Product Guides.
