Hailing from Osceola, Wis., 14-year-old Edison Aldrich is making waves in sprint car racing. Competing in the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS), he primarily races at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin, but regularly travels to tracks in Princeton, Minnesota; Ogilvie, Minnesota; and Fargo, North Dakota.
Aldrich’s father is a former motocross racer who believed car racing would resonate with his son. Aldrich’s passion for racing ignited when he attended his first quarter midget race. Captivated by their son’s excitement, the family invested in a quarter midget car, launching Aldrich’s journey into the sport.
Aldrich started racing dirt bikes at age 7 and transitioned to quarter midgets at age 10, racing 125/250 wing karts before quickly moving up to 600cc micro sprint. This year, he made a significant leap into the UMSS, proving his skills by starting from the back for three races. He is currently third in points for the season and leads the Rookie of the Year standings—a testament to his talent and determination.
