The backdrops range from desert landscapes to sprawling sand dunes to breathtaking mountain peaks. With thousands of acres of protected lands and a prevailing attitude of “come and enjoy,” the West offers riders a vast area to explore.

The Moab, Utah area is home to one of the most extensive ATV/UTV and 4WD trail networks in the country.
The region’s biggest draw is Arches National Park, where many existing trails in the park are open to ATV and UTV use.
With hundreds of miles and 30 trails, you will certainly find an adventure to suit your group.

For nine miles along the Pacific coast, ATV/UTV enthusiasts will find a playground in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area OHV.
The greater-Dunes region hosts over 50 ATV trails that wind through varying terrains from forests to high desert.
New to riding? Don’t worry, the region has beginner trails for less-experienced riders with larger dunes reserved for advanced riders.
Pro Tip: Be sure to keep an eye on the weather as it can be erratic close to the ocean.

Nestled in the Joshua Tree and wildflower-filled backdrops of the Mojave Desert is the Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area.
Known for the King of the Hammers off-road event, the surrounding region features trails and rides that range from beginner trail to expert rides.
If you don’t have your own ride, not to worry! Lucerne Valley, which boarders the region, offers multiple ATV/UTV rentals for your convenience.
The temperatures can get extremely hot in the Mojave Desert, with temps topping 110 degrees, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Make sure your machine is ready before you go. With the wide range of trail topographies and weather, and the best riding found anywhere, it’s a good idea to complete a round of maintenance before you load up.
