Hi, race fans!
Your resident AMSOIL racing and events expert here with a breakdown of what Team AMSOIL has been up to “On the Track” and what’s to come in our “Staging Area.”
On the Track
Barber Vintage Festival
George Barber’s need for speed sparked the fire that eventually became the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. Collecting and restoring classic cars in the late ’80s, a friend suggested Barber shift his focus to motorcycles. Barber then sought to build the “best and largest” motorcycle collection. In 1994, he opened his museum to the public at its original location. Moving to its current location in Birmingham, Ala., in 1999, the museum now features a 16-turn, 2.38-mile racetrack and more than 1,400 motorcycles and classic cars. More than 270,000 visitors from around the world visit the museum each year.
And in celebration of this world-renowned museum, the Barber Vintage Festival is held every year. As part of this year’s 14th-annual festival, AMSOIL was there as title sponsor of the Fan Zone. We were also there to support Geoff May in his AHRMA race endeavors. AMSOIL is proud to be part of one of the most anticipated motorcycle events in the world.
Check out the photos we collected from the event. Find out more about the event and museum here.
In the Staging Area
AMSOIL GNCC
The 2018 season of the AMSOIL GNCC Series wraps up with the AMSOIL Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, Ind., Oct. 27-28. The event draws a huge crowd every year, complete with a breast cancer awareness theme, Halloween costume contest and, of course, racing. As always the AMSOIL Garage will be running in full force.
Wild Wild West
Brad Lovell and his brother Roger are looking toward the finish line (literally) as we approach the Ultra 4 National Championship in Reno, Nev., Oct. 19-20. Currently, Lovell sits fourth in the 4800 class.
To see what the Lovell’s do during their off time, check out this video.
As always, we’ll see you at the races (be sure to stop by and say “Hi” at the AMSOIL Ironman)!
