LS Fest: An Enthusiast Event that Bleeds Performance

If you are a vehicle enthusiast looking for a car show that blends beauty and performance, LS Fest is a must for your calendar.

Anyone who has been following AMSOIL knows that we understand the appeal of a high-horsepower, street-legal LS engine. We built one of our own and put it to the test. Read about our 1,000-horsepower supercharged LS-engine build on the AMSOIL blog.

But that’s not all. In addition to our engine build, we want to be where enthusiasts gather. That’s why we sponsor the premier LS and current LT engine showcase event, LS Fest. The event began in Bowling Green, Ky. and has since expanded to events in Las Vegas, Nev. and Fort Worth, Texas.

Professional and amateur enthusiasts alike put their LS/LT builds to the test during three days of competition. Events include autocross, drifting, drag racing, off-road challenges, donuts, burnouts and even a car show where builders can showcase their creations.

I’ve been fortunate enough to attend the Bowling Green and Las Vegas events, and I can tell you this event lives and breathes performance. From the moment you enter the event grounds, you can hear, feel and smell it all. There’s the rumble of a vehicle taking off at the drag strip, the squeal of tires accompanied by a smoky haze from the burnout pits, and the fan wearing a “Wake Up and Smell the Race Fuel” T-shirt cheering on a drifter tearing up the autocross track. Every element of LS Fest is designed to push vehicles to their limits and showcase the raw power of their engines.

For me, one of the top highlights is spotting the unexpected engine swaps. If you can dream it, LS/LT engine enthusiasts will swap it. My personal favorite of 2025 so far? A 4,000-pound 1993 Buick Roadmaster hearse with a twin-turbo LS3 engine. This beast reportedly ran 8.07 seconds and topped 170 mph in the drag-and-drive competition at LS Fest West in Las Vegas.

To sum it up, as an enthusiast, I’ve loved every minute of basking in the glory of all things LS/LT at LS Fest. If you’re big into performance, enjoy tricked-out vehicles, and relish the sound and vibration of a roaring engine, I highly recommend adding LS Fest to your calendar.
