For more than 20 years, Street Rodder Magazine Road Tour Director Jerry Dixey has been traveling the country leading the Street Rodder Road Tour.
In total, Dixey has traveled 500,000 miles across the country in various hot rods, seeing famous car collections, landmarks and more along the way. Wednesday, June 19, the Tour took a day trip, as it has in past years, up to Superior, Wis., to visit AMSOIL headquarters.
As part of the first of eight legs of the 2019 Tour, the “Road Tourians” enjoyed a week of car-enthusiast events, culminating with the MSRA “Back to the ’50s Weekend” at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds June 21-23, one of the most popular events in the country. After this weekend they will continue for eight more legs of the Tour throughout the country, ending in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Local car clubs were invited this year to mingle with the Road Tourians and show off their rides as well.
Check out some of the sweet rides we found below.
The Street Rodder Road Tour leads enthusiasts on a series of road trips across the country in restored street rods. Road Tourians can participate in as many or as few legs of the Tour as they want.
Though there are no restrictions on vehicle model year, car shows the Tour may visit along the way sometimes limit entries to a certain range. Cars on this leg of the Tour ranged from the ’30s to the ’60s.
