Last week, thousands descended on the Las Vegas Convention Center to witness the spectacle that is the SEMA Show. This trade-only event has become the place to see and be seen for those in the specialty equipment manufacturing industry. With around 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space, the SEMA show draws thousands of exhibitors and buyers looking to connect over the latest and greatest innovations available to the automotive masses. Everywhere you look, there is something new and exciting to see.
Expectations are high with companies pulling out all the stops to showcase their wares. Premier vehicle builders aspire to land a spot at SEMA to display their most exquisite projects alongside industry heavyweights. There are countless high-end vehicles both inside and out to display each automotive component in action. The New Product Showcase gives showgoers a chance to see new products launched by exhibitors, with awards handed out to the best and brightest.
The AMSOIL booth was no exception. We had lots to share this year, with several new products and special guest appearances by Gale Banks and Scott Birdsall. Booth traffic was steady all week, with spectators eager to learn more about AMSOIL. Here are a few highlights on the AMSOIL showing at SEMA 2023.
Gale Banks – Banks Power
Gale Banks is a world-class designer and manufacturer of power-enhancing products for the diesel- and gas-powered vehicle industry. He’s well known in the aftermarket performance realm, having honed his craft since the 1960’s. AMSOIL and Banks Power have formed a partnership that lends exceptional credence to our shared product performance aspects. SEMA is the perfect place to speak about that vision. Gale Banks made a special appearance in the AMSOIL booth, signing autographs and talking shop with fellow show attendees. His legendary ‘Lokjaw’ build also made a welcome return after its original unveiling at SEMA 2021.
Scott Birdsall – Racing Extraordinaire
Scott Birdsall is a star in his own right, with a need for speed that’s led him to success in areas from snowboarding to dirt bikes and diesel. Birdsall is also a master fabricator, chief engineer and owner of Chuckle’s Garage in Santa Rosa, Calif. He set a world record in 2020 at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a time of 11:24.065. Birdsall lent his star power to sign autographs at the AMSOIL booth with his 1991 Toyota Pickup Land Speed build on display.
New Product Showcase – An AMSOIL Win
AMSOIL launched eight new products in 2023, all of which were entered into the SEMA New Product Showcase. Here is where companies can tout their product innovation in front of key players within the industry. Among thousands of entries vying for the judging panel’s attention, the AMSOIL ATV/UTV Oil Change Kits captured a runner-up award for Best New Powersports Product. Taking home a New Product Award at SEMA is an extraordinary honor, and AMSOIL is proud to have achieved this notable recognition.
