Happy fall, race fans! The leaves are changing, pumpkin spice is back and my fantasy football team is crushing it (sure, we’re only two weeks into the season, but, still).
Your resident AMSOIL racing and events expert here to breakdown what Team AMSOIL has been up to “On the Track” and what’s to come in our “Staging Area.”
On the Track
It’s Crandon, Baby!
Labor Day weekend signals arguably the most notable event in short-course racing – the Crandon World Championships. An estimated 50,000 fans gathered in Crandon, Wis., to watch the best off-road drivers in the world take to the infamous Crandon track. AMSOIL was there throughout the weekend hosting autograph signings and giving exclusive VIP experiences.
After the dust settled, CJ Greaves took home the AMSOIL Cup for the second time. Bryce Menzies took home a win in Pro 4×4. In total eight World Championships and the AMSOIL Cup champion were crowned.
Hay Days Grass Drags
The 52nd annual Hay Days Grass Drags marked the unofficial kickoff to the Snocross season. The normally quiet hayfield outside North Branch, Minn., hosted thousands of people eager to hear the trademark “braaap” of a two-stroke sled.
Snowmobile manufacturers take the opportunity to introduce their new models, snowmobile enthusiasts browse miles of swap-meet booths and professional AMSOIL Championship Snocross riders sign autographs and make appearances. This year featured an exclusive VIP showing of 509’s Volume 13 “Chasing the Endless Season,” featuring Scheuring Speed Sports rider Lincoln Lemieux and off-road racer Scott Douglas. Check out a sneak peek below.

AMSOIL GNCC Back in Business
Well, it was supposed to be. Unfortunately, Tropical Storm Gordon forced the cancellation of the Sept. 15-16 race in Harpursville, N.Y. Heavy rain left the trails impassable, with more precipitation in the forecast.
The GNCC Series resumes Sept. 29-30 with the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Mason-Dixon GNCC National, in Mount Morris, Pa. For a full list of remaining events, check out the full AMSOIL GNCC schedule here. To watch past races, go here.
You Can Find Me at Glen Helen
Scott Douglas and Bryce Menzies take to the dirt again at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Calif., for the Golden State Off Road Nationals. Off-road racers descend upon this historic track to scream through the San Bernardino hillside. Douglas is sitting just out of the top five in Pro 4×4 points this season.
Recently, Douglas talked about his crazy 2018 season.
