I hate to break it to you race fans, but summer is almost over. The mornings are getting cooler, the days are getting shorter and the dreaded “Back to School” section is out at Target.
But with all of the above comes Labor Day weekend. And with Labor Day weekend comes the greatest weekend in short-course racing: the Crandon World Championship Off-Road races at the “Big House” in Crandon, Wis.
Starting with practice on Thursday, Aug. 30, the weekend will include four days of track action as well as evening concerts and camping. As a major track sponsor, AMSOIL will be hanging out all weekend at the Big House.
Find out what there is to do throughout the weekend below.
Friday, Aug. 31
Friday kicks off the weekend with a parade in downtown Crandon. Last year’s AMSOIL Cup winner, Bryce Menzies, will serve as Grand Marshall. The first day of racing starts at 2 p.m. with the Forest County Potawatomi “Friday Night Thunder” event. The band Road Trip closes out the evening with a live concert on the Crandon stage.
Saturday, Sept. 1
Saturday features a full day of racing. Take a break from the roost to snag an autograph from AMSOIL Expedition Colorado’s Brad Lovell and Levi Shirley in the AMSOIL booth from 1-2 p.m. Cap the evening off at the Crandon stage with a live concert from the Tim McDonald Band.
Sunday, Sept. 2
Sunday concludes the weekend with the Crandon World Cup and AMSOIL Cup Challenge. Leading up to the final race, AMSOIL Cup pro drivers will be signing autographs in the BFGoodrich Barn from 1-2 p.m. AMSOIL will be taking lucky winners into the middle of the track to watch the final race. Winners will also take a ride around the track in the track dump truck, which is outfitted with two-dozen seats.
Be sure to sign up at the AMSOIL booth all weekend for a chance to win a $150 AMSOIL gift certificate. One gift certificate will be given away each day. Also sign up throughout the weekend for your chance to win exclusive AMSOIL VIP experiences during Sunday’s World Championships.
